this is for you is a gentle place, and gentle places need care. These guidelines describe how we keep this community safe, warm, and honest — for everyone.
Lead with kindness
Every member here deserves kindness and respect, always. Grief looks different for everyone, and there is no right way or timeline to grieve.
Speak to others with care. Listen without fixing. Protect privacy — share only your own story, and never pressure someone to share more than they wish to.
Peer support only
this is for you is a peer community. Members share lived experiences and encouragement — not medical or mental-health diagnoses, treatment plans, or professional advice.
Please don't offer or ask for diagnosis or treatment advice here. If you're seeking professional care, our Resources page lists trusted counseling services, and a professional can help alongside this community.
No spam or self-promotion
This space is for remembering, sharing, and supporting one another. Please don't post advertising, business promotion, fundraising links, or repeated messages.
If you have something you think would genuinely help others, you're welcome to mention it gently in conversation — but this community should never feel like a place that is selling to you.
How reporting works
If a post or comment feels unkind, unsafe, or against these guidelines, you can report it to our moderators — every report is reviewed by a person, always.
When you report something, you don't need to explain yourself at length or worry that you're overreacting. You won't be asked to confront anyone. Moderators read every report, review the content, and remove anything that breaks these guidelines. In serious cases, we may pause or remove an account so the community stays safe.
If you'd rather not see something, you can also simply move past it — and you can always reach out to us through the Resources page if you need help beyond this community.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is available 24/7 — call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, US). This community is peer support, not crisis care.
